A traditional favorite known for its rich, buttery flavor and firm texture. Large plants begin producing later in the season but reward you with a steady harvest over a long picking period. Delicious sautéed, baked, or enjoyed fresh, while its attractive fruits also add ornamental interest to the garden. This is a low-calorie, nutrient-dense and high fiber summer squash.
Thrives in fertile, well-drained soil, in full sun to part sun. Harvest when they are 5-6" or smaller by cutting or gently twist off fruits when they have reached the desired size.
