Thick, maple-like, rich, deep red to almost black foliage forms a pleasing, colorful tight mound that retains its spectacular color even in the heat of summer. Thrives in partial shade. Feed yearly with an organic fertilizer. Once bloom passes, remove spent flower stalks. Prune back foliage in late fall after a hard freeze or in late winter before growth has begun.
