A robust evergreen shrub known for its winter hardiness, which has been thoroughly tested in Hungary by the originating breeder. With a compact, bushy habit, it grows to approximately 60 inches tall and 47 inches wide. The plant features dense, leathery, glossy foliage that emerges in vibrant lime-green with bronze tones, gradually maturing to a rich green over the summer. In spring, it produces spikes of small, creamy white, fragrant flowers, followed by ornamental black berries. Its rounded form and attractive foliage make it a versatile choice for mass plantings, landscaping, hedges, or as a stand-alone specimen.
Plant it in a sunny or semi-shaded location with fertile, moist but well-drained soil. It is best to prune in spring or summer to maintain a neat shape, as this shrub is easy to manage. Regular pruning also encourages a dense and bushy form. It is tolerant of different soil types but will benefit from added organic matter to improve drainage and fertility. Mulch around the base of the plant to retain moisture and regulate soil temperature, particularly in hotter climates.
