Features medium green fronds growing to 2' tall, with small crests on the pinnae that curve toward the frond tips. This distinctive frond shape gives rise to its occasional common name, fish-tail crested male fern.
Grow in part shade to full shade in consistently moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Do not allow the soil to dry out. Protect from strong winds to prevent frond damage, and divide crowns as needed.
