A dramatic delphinium featuring towering spires of deep bluish-purple flowers reaching up to 6 feet tall. Strong, upright stems and coarse-textured foliage provide impressive garden structure, while occasional white or pale mauve blooms add unexpected contrast. Removing spent spikes encourages a second round of blooms in late summer and fall. Selected for vigorous growth and improved heat and humidity tolerance while maintaining excellent cold hardiness.
Thrives in full sun in moist, well-drained soil. Feed yearly with an organic fertilizer. Prune back spent flower spikes after bloom is finished. Cut back to near ground level after a hard freeze in late fall.
