This outstanding nativar will bring its sunny disposition to the garden every late May with gorgeous golden-yellow flower spikes that cover this beefy plant well into June. Even when not in bloom, 'American Goldfinch' is a welcome presence in the landscape with its blue-green foliage and its dense, space-saving form. It also thrives in poor soil and drought conditions.
Grows best in full sun. Fertilize yearly with an organic fertilizer. Cut back to ground level in late fall or winter.
