‘Sun King’ is brilliant from the start with bright yellow leaves that emerge in mid spring. These leaves are held on contrasting reddish stems. In summer 2' spikes of tiny white flowers are produced, followed by deep purplish black, berries that are enjoyed by many birds in the fall. Perfect for morning sun/afternoon shade areas.  Foliage retains its bright yellow color all season and looks especially nice in the semi-shaded garden planted behind hostas and ferns. Superb alone or grouped.

Growing & Maintenance Tips for Aralia Sun King

Best grown in moist well-drained soils in part shade. Feed yearly with an organic fertilizer. Cut back hard after hard freeze in fall. If given at least a few hours of sun a day, the foliage will remain yellow all summer.  In heavier shade, the foliage ranges from chartreuse to lime green.
