Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Lynn's Golden' is a compact, slow-growing hinoki cypress noted for its striking golden-yellow foliage that deepens to purple in winter. Its dense, pyramidal form makes it an excellent choice as a specimen plant in rock gardens, foundation plantings, or as a year-round color accent in landscapes.
Thrives in well-drained, medium-moisture soils in full sun to part shade, with best color achieved in full sun. Keep it sheltered from harsh winds, and avoid soggy conditions that may lead to root rot. Winter’s cool temperatures often bring out rich purple tones in its golden foliage, adding seasonal interest.
