Frost Protection Reference Guide

THERE IS A FROST OR FREEZE WARNING

In many surrounding areas including New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, temperatures tonight are predicted to drop to the teens to low 30s. Extra precautions MUST BE taken to protect your tender plants in these areas.

If you've recently gotten any plants from us or another grower this spring that look more advanced than the plants you see in the landscape those plants are at risk for frost damage. This is especially true for plants that are starting to show new growth, buds, or blooms. BE SAFE AND PROTECT YOUR PLANTS!!

  • All Boxwood
  • All Evergreen Euonymus fortunei
  • All Japanese maples
  • All Rhododendron
  • All Pieris
  • All Erica
  • All perennials that appear to be more advanced than the plants you are seeing in the landscape
  • All fruit trees or flowering trees
  • All Hydrangea macrophylla
  • All annuals and vegetables

Be sure to check your local forecast and protect your plants. Even temps in the upper 30’s can cause damage. So take extra precautions for sensitive material.
