Panicum is native grass that is very easy to grow and is a good grass for beginners. Greenish tan flowers cluster along the top part of the plant, while the rest holds wide, blue-leaves, leaves. Although it grows up to 7’ tall, this durable ornamental grass remains upright due to its drought, head and wind tolerance. A versatile plant when it comes to landscape design as well. Does well when planted in masses, along ponds or streams, or even large containers for a real statement piece.
In the winter, some of the plant will remain which provides cover for birds.
