Set your landscape ablaze with this brilliant Heather that has great landscape value not just when it blooms, but also when it flushes its new growth. In early spring, 'Spring Torch' look just like some other green foliaged, compact Heather but look out when its new growth comes out because you might need some sunglasses! All of a sudden this green plant is alive with vibrant shades of yellow, orange and red on its flushing foliage that can't help but light up the spring garden! This new growth slowly fades to a rich, medium green color just in time for the small flower buds that line each stem to open in early July to reveal substantial numbers of medium pink flowers that show up perfectly against this newly rich green foliage. Like all Heather, 'Spring Torch' prefers half to full day sun, well drained soil and protection from winter winds. It is drought tolerant once established.
