Dense stems of deep lobed foliage form a tight, compact mound that give rise to spikes of double bright blue flowers starting in late May. Cut back after initial flowering to encourage repeat bloom and dense habit. Prefers a rich, compost laden, moist, well drained soil. Feed yearly with an organic fertilizer. Cut back to near ground level in the late fall after a hard freeze.
