The
Paperbark maple features cinnamon red bark that peels off
in papery sections and is noticeable from a distance. With
a unique compact leaf, the plant reaches a final height
of about 30 feet. The tree offers spectacular red autumn
foliage and is hardy to Zone 4.

"Connecticut Minatures" 'Little Linda.'
One
of the the four mountain laurels that collectively earned
this year's award. Introduced by Richard A Jaynes, these
plants retain the dazzling flowers of the species, but with
a much more compact growing habit. Hardy to Zone 5, they
are ideal for smaller gardens.

Heptacodium
miconioides
A
fast-growing, arching, large shrub. In late summer, the
plant develops eight inch long panicles of flower buds at
the ends of its branches. After the flowers pass, the real
show comes in autumn, above, when the sepals evolve to a
crimson red. Exfoliating bark gives this plant a full four
seasons of interest.

open in May with a deep red color, then turn pink, and finally
white when fully open. Its show resumes in the fall when glossy
red crabapples form and persist into winter Hardy to Zone
4, 'Donald Wyman' often reaches a height of 20 to 25 feet,
but can grow even higher. |

Clethra
alnifolia 'Ruby Spice'
The
best of an impressive list of Clethra cultivars on the market.
Its flowers are rich, vibrant pink in both bud and bloom
- far superior to the old washed-out pink of earlier selections.
A great plant for a moist, sunny area, its hardy to Zone

Cornus
mas
The
Cornelian cherry dogwood tree, grows 15-20 feet tall. Its
bright yellow April flowers will add color to the spring
landscape, and add color to the fall landscape with its
brilliant red oblong fruit. Cornus mas needs at least a
half day of sun. Hardy to Zone 4.
